Jessica Weiner is an Author, Self-Esteem Expert, and Advice Columnist who reaches audiences worldwide through her books, speaking engagements, and media appearances. She is the self-esteem expert for The Tyra Banks show and is a regular contributor for The Today Show, and CNN Showbiz Tonight. Jess is the author of the books A Very Hungry Girl and Life Doesn't Begin 5 Pounds From Now. Carol Normandi, M.S., MFT and Laurelee Roark, MA, CCHT are co-founders of Beyond Hunger, a nonprofit organization in San Rafael, California that provides support groups, workshops and education for individuals with eating disorders and body image disturbances. They are the authors of It's Not About Food: End Your Obsession with Food and Weight, a book for adult women with eating disorders, and Over It: A Teen's Guide to Getting Beyond Obsessions with Food and Weight. Carol and Laurelee will help listeners understand how to free themselves from their destructive and damaging diet/binge cycles.

Leigh Cohn - Males & Body Image Issues (4/7/08)

Leigh Cohn is the Publisher of Gürze Books, a company which has specialized in eating disorders education and publications since 1980, when he and his wife, Lindsey Hall, wrote the first book on bulimia. He has coauthored many books on eating disorders and is the Editor-in-Chief of Eating Disorders: The Journal of Treatment and Prevention. For over twenty-five years, he has spoken at many colleges and universities, hospitals, community groups and professional conferences. He received an Honorary Certified Eating Disorders Specialist designation from the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals in 2007, and he and Lindsey were given an Award for Service in 2005 by the Eating Disorders Coalition in Washington, D.C. Leigh will enlighten us with his perspective on male body image issues.

Dr. Barbara Birsinger - An Integrative Approach to Healing: Mind, Body, Spirit (3/31/08 )

Dr. Barbara Birsinger is a Registered Dietitian with a Master's Degree in Public Health Nutrition and a Doctorate of Theology Degree in Spiritual Healing and Energy Medicine. She has been teaching the restoration of Intuitive Eating for nearly two decades. In addition to private practice, conducting workshops, and developing products through her organization, "The Energetics of Eating," Barbara is writing an article based on the findings of her doctoral research entitled, "The Effects of an Integrative Body, Mind, Soul and Spirit Approach on Restoring Balance to Eating and Weight Issues", which is soon to be reviewed for publication in the medical journal, Explore-The Journal of Science and Healing. Connie Sobczak - The Body Positive: How to change our focus! (3/24/08)

Connie Sobczak is the Co-Founder & Co-Director of The Body Positive, a non-profit organization that empowers women and girls to positively transform their relationships with their bodies. She is an advocate for the health and well being of women and children of all sizes and shapes. She produced the BodyTalk video series and co-wrote the BodyAloud! guidebook based on her desire to create a world where children can grow up healthy and confident in their unique bodies. She has written articles for several magazines, and has been featured in numerous TV, radio and print stories. Connie was a semi-finalist for a Volvo for Life award, which honors "real-life heroes" who work to make our world a better place. Joslyn Smith is the Senior Legislative Assistant for the American Psychological Association's Government Relations Office. In this role, she is responsible for federal policy efforts addressing eating disorders and related issues. As a policy analyst and advocate, Ms. Smith is committed to raising awareness of eating disorders and challenging stereotypes surrounding weight and health. She currently serves as a Board Member for the Andrea's Voice Foundation and on the Advisory Council of Ophelia's Place. Ms. Smith recently co-authored the groundbreaking article, "The Risks of a Quick Fix: A Case against Mandatory Body Mass Index Reporting Laws," with Dr. Jeanine Cogan and Dr. Margo Maine.
